Hamptons fest honors 'Artist,' 'Times'

The Weinstein Company's "The Artist" and Marc Levin's local-designed doc "Hard Occasions: Lost on New York" acquired audience kudos in the Hamptons Intl. Film Festival Sunday evening.Dominique Abel and Fiona Gordon's comic romance "The Fairy" obtained the fest's jury-selected Golden Starfish prize for narrative feature, with Fellipe Barbosa's doc's "Laura," in regards to a Brazilian ex-pat in Gotham, using the Starfish for docu.Mark Jackson's debut feature "Without," in regards to a lady who requires a temporary gig being an old man's caretaker, obtained two awards, the Kodak Award for cinematography and also the Wouter Barendrecht Pioneering Vision award.Special awards visited "The Forgiveness of Bloodstream," Joshua Marston's Albania-set drama, and also to property development docu "You Have Been Trumped," which snagged the fest's kudo for social justice. Prize for brief films visited doc short "Two's an audienceInch and doc "The Strange Ones."Formerly introduced granted passed out in the 19th annual fest visited Annie Howell and Lisa Robinson's "Small, Superbly Moving Parts," which required the Sloan Foundation prize, and Lee Hirsch's doc "The Bully Project," scoring the kudo for films about conflict and resolution.Hampton Film Festival finishes its five-day run March. 17.
